    Hello,
I am looking for a aircraft/metal-type travel trailer and would appreciate having an experienced/seasoned travel trailer owner look at a camper with me - I found you listed on Air Forum as a volunteer inspector - and hope you are still available! Thank you for your time! Suzanne

Hello. I found you on the Air Forum volunteer inspector list! My wife and I are thinking about driving down to Fayetteville from Southern Maryland on Saturday, November 7 to look at a 1956 Airstream Safari 22 that's for sale. Any chance you might be available to take a look at the trailer with us? Thanks very much. Ben 410-231-4154

    (last message too long )

I had them check on new tires. The ones on now seem to be at least a few years old, and by the look of things have come from 3 rounds of purchaes. The oldest lookng do have some sidewall cracking, but not too much tread wear. They had a quote for 6plys (3 different brands)from their distributor, they ARE all trailer tires. The ones on now are 8 ply.

Do you know if I should be concerned with 6 or 8 ply?

    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi

Went to the NC dealer today. Howard RV does seem like a good business. I do like the floorplan this AS. The trailer does have some wear, more than you would guess from the pictures, although not a dent to be found. The trim is discolored etc.

There was some notable rust on the skid bars at the rear, and in some of the storage boxes (not for utilities, storage only). AC was cold, fans worked, slide was fast and quiet. It is still winterized, but they commit that all utitlites were checked, and it can obviously be written into the contract.

There was a little bit of clearcoat pitting/peeling at a couple of seams, most near the Airstream emblem near the door. Nothing major. The roof does not appear to be peeling.

    question on tires to follow...

    Hi-

I am looking for an AS inspector in NC. I have located a 2001 in Wilmington NC.
Is this an area you go to? If not, any one you recommend in that area?

    Thanks Tim
