I'm not sure where this will hit on the scale of good or bad experiences or how it will be received by the community. I just have to share our experiences on a special rally last week.
I had been looking forward to this rally for a year. The venue was less than two hours away. The campground is clean without a bad spot in the place. The event is centered around a heritage music festival in the mountains of Virgina.
I am not trying to be cute or anything about specifics of the rally....

Some reflections on our visit to The Mother Ship. We drove about 4 hours from our week long stream side camp in Michagin to Jackson Center, Ohio. TMS is the only plant in the world that builds Airstreams.
They build them all here.
They build them mostly by hand.
There are pneumatic tools for riveting and some hydraulic sheet metal bending machines but most of the work is done by hand. They move the trailer by hand from station to station.
They build to order....

Where did the time go? We've been on the road for 6 days. It's hard to believe it has been that long.

It's quite a site to have 3 shiny silver trailers caravaning down the interstate. I do notice a few smiles passing us by. We get a lot of attention at rest stops.

We've skirted Detroit and Columbus and that was good. I must say the roads or the right lane of most roads are pretty rough. We stay out of the way since we're usually below the speed limit and let others...

So how was it?
Very good!
Some white knuckles, a few laughs, and confirmation that were doing the right things with the right people.
We got a later start than planned but only by 45 minutes. That hardly qualifies as being late.
As Gaile said, Im tired of getting ready, lets just go!
Our first stop was 2 hours up the road in VA for 1 night to gather the group and get details for the rest of the trip.
Its quite a sight to see 7 Airstreams,...

It's "D" day minus 2. We'll leave around noon on Monday for our first stop about 2 hours away in VA. That will be one night and then it's 4 hours of driving a day and two nights at each stop.
There will be 7 of us caravaning up the road. This will be our first road trip with this group. We've camped together at Piedmont Rallies. We can stay still pretty well, let's see how well we move together.
My first challenge will be getting out of our side yard. There has been...
