I'm terribly sorry to hear about bad floor, even a little spot, in a 2007 trailer! (Another thread on the portal today). I guess I may as well just keep my 92 if one has to treat rot in the newer models. Why in the world would they use crummy wood? Again? I thought all the newer 'streams have good, plywood floors. Someone tell me they didn't repeat the OSB fiasco again!
We had rotten OSB floor to replace in the back of our Excella, and if we find anything remotely resembling a soft,...

The floor patch in the rear is done! It took us three and a half frustrating days, but we learned a great deal.
First off: We probably should have listened to everyone who advised us to drop the bellypan and do the whole rear floor.
Instead, we opted to patch only the rotted area where a gasket had failed on the curbside storage door and thoroughly soaked and rotted about two foot of floor alongside and toward the back. We were just unwilling to drop the belly pan...

I'm wondering if it's a rule that all trailer and RV shops must keep Airstreams at least three or four days or a week before they even look at them. It seems that way.
Although Esmerelda has given us many surprises, I think I'm more surprised to learn that no shop can keep her less than several days, no matter how simple the job.
Do they like, want to keep her until they've called their friends over to see the "real" AS in their compound? Maybe they just think...

We aren't going to get out of here before the snow. I'm a sad puppy.
Oh, not really! I'm having bee-g fun playing with Esmerelda. By the way, I spelled her name wrong in my last post to this blog. I kept thinking something looked strange about it. Realized the problem today. I had a senior moment, ok?
Today is our younger daughter's birthday. She's had sort of a rough time lately. She's the mother of two of our four precious grandchildren, is recently separated, and just...

I haven't had as much time to blog and play on the computer since we brought "Esmeralda" home. We got a lot done yesterday and there's snow predicted for Thursday. If we could finish cleaning and get her stocked and loaded, we'd pull out of here before it hits again! I should be working on her now but wanted to catch up a little on my blog.
We have new tires, new brakes, and new batteries. That's a start. We also have floor rot, of course, in the bedroom and Lord knows where...
