Jim:
If you don't mind my asking. Where did you get your axle work done.

Hello Jim,
I just bought an 1983 27 ft. Excella and I am in the process of fixing it up a little.
It was in good condition as far as I could tell but the more I inspect it the more repairs I see it needs. I noticed that the inside wheels covers (under the single beds) are broken around all the screw heads. I am woundering if this could have been caused by bad axles. I hope to be able to ask you other stuff about the trailer until the service manual I ordered comes in.
Thanks, Greg C.

Thanks. Finally got around to checking this forum. It's very big and hard at finding the questions I need answered-but I'll keep plugging along. I did order an axle from Inland RV 4 weeks ago- hopefully it comes in this week. I figured I do the welding on the floor when I get the axle. Floor had some soft spots- tore it up- frame was real bad. It's odd how much deterioration the frame has on this Caravel. That 58 serro scotty in my profile pic sat in the woods for over 30 years and the only frame rot it had was the tongue.

Hello,
I came across your name from the "cool custom improvements." Cool idea, by the way, I might give that a try later on. Right now, my question is about tires, wheels, and possibly a new axle. In need of recommendations for my newly bought 65 Caravel-which is still sitting at its current location at the owners summer cottage. I've been on this forum since 9pm. I keep getting sidetracked. So if ya could give me any info. I thankyou.

Hi Jim and Lynn, Hope all is well with you. We've discovered a couple of leaking windows in our AS. Either you or Bob mentioned a place in Olympia that works on Airstreams. Can you tell me the name? Thanks, Karen
