I am looking into buying an airstream. I live in Hillsborough and one is up for sale around the corner from me. It is a 1993 Excella 25 ft for $10,000. Was wondering if you could do an inspection for me?

I towed my 19' with a full size E-150 Ford van. It had a lot of miles on it when I bought the 25'. I replaced the van with a Ford Expedition. I never had any issues with campgrounds since the van was not equipped for camping. I see no difference between the Sprinter and a custom van equipped for camping. I suppose it is up to the individual campground to make a decision about having two camping units.

Finally as a follow up on the problem. It was the Thrace magnets on my trailer that needed replacing. All is good now!

I need some advice on my trailer brakes. I had to replace my plug assembly at the Ford dealer after returning from Alumalina because of some message on dash about bad trailer wiring . Ford said it was the plug and replaced it. I had an opportunity to pull the trailer and the factory controller had to be adjusted to full power to just get the brakes to slightly engage. Took truck back to ford and they said voltage output was at proper levels. I then pulled another trailer and system worked fine. I went back to Airstream trailer and still had very little brakes when at max output. What would you suggest? Could it be that brakes need adjusting or something wrong with trailer plug?

Thanks. It has 15" and I guess I could upgrade to 16". Looks like plenty of room front and back, but I don't know about top of wheel wheel. What Michelin would you recommend?

Hi Howie. Going to look at a 1966 20' Globetrotter tomorrow. Frame-off restore. A little expensive, but I can't deal with a larger trailer anymore like my 2002 28' Classic. Wouldn't matter because I now have a 2015 Nissan Frontier. Question I have for you . . . the unit has AS alum wheels and I would want to go back to the steel wheel with moon hub caps like the original. The owner says that the restor was done in 2010 and the trailer has been sitting as a pool house since then. This would mean I need to replace the tires. I have had bad experiences with GYM in the past. I am thing about Yokohama or Michelin. What would you recommend?
