    Jim and karen,
We currently we have two 14' Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140s. They are 27" at the widest point just aft of the cockpit. We use the Yakima rail stystem ordered when we got our SnugTop shell. Three, 65" cross rails, the two rear ones tied together with the yakima low basket case. If you notice, the two bikes are on two fork mounted Yakima Steelhead racks, both with "extended rails" for our Bike-E recoumbents. The Cannondales fit nicely up there only because the inside pedal is tucked under the boat, leaving only a few inches of clearance on the crankarms. The front cross bar carries the lift/load of the kayaks, the center cross bar only carries the fork mounts for the bikes, and the rearmost cross bar has, basket, rear kayak, and rear bike tray mounts. Pretty tight , and Just outboard on the forward and rear cross bars, are two hanging fly-rod brackets.
The best to you on your set-up!

    Hi Bob,
Just saw your latest picture with the bike/kayak carrier. Love it! We have a similar rig, a '12 Silverado Crew Cab with an ARE topper towing our 27' FB. I ordered the topper with the Yakima racks. We carry two bikes using the Thule Sidearm bike racks.

Here's my question. How on earth did you get two kayaks to fit up there. There just doesn't appear to be enough room. Also, I like the kook of the kayaks. What model are they?

We're fulltimers, so we like to carry our toys with us. Thaks much for your help.

    Cheers,
    Jim and Karen Arthur

Klev- We'd still go back to Chaco...however. The road was in fact brutal on our Airstream. Broke a number of things, spilled and in general made a mess. We're traveled a number of roads however, this time, this road, both in and out make us advise against it. Us AS folks area always hopeful, as they say, the road is just graded, you go super slow, I mean a crawl, perhaps. The washboard is just relentless, screws, rivets just can't hold up. I've heard experiances are specific to conditions of the road, from the south or north, figure 20 miles of washboard. Hills and rocks were not an issue. Still, beautiful and peaceful place. Hey, good luck, let us know how ya did!

Hey Bob, thanks for posting the great photos of your trip to New Mexico. Having travelled the road into Chaco Canyon with your Airstream, would you ever do it again? We have a NM Volunteers for the Outdoors project later this year, and we are not sure we want to subject our Airstream to the trip.

Hey Bob... It was a pleasure meeting up in Morro Bay. Thanks for leaving your card. Did you get a picture of 'The Step?' We got an early start Sunday morning... left about 9am. We have to drive through L.A. to get home in O.C. and there's always a lot of traffic in L.A., therefore, the early start. Are you guys headed elsewhere after Morro Bay?
Checked out the pictures you've posted... great pics. I only have a few, there is one of The Step though.
Well, it's too bad we didn't really get to hang out... you guys seem like a lot of fun. Maybe we'll meet again on some other 'streamin trip.
Take care and hope to see ya sometime!
