Hi Dick and Judy, it was great to meet you two (sorry, you four - Rosie and Sugar definitely count!) Glad you had a safe trip home and hope we can rally together again sometime!

Dick, sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I'm not on the computer much lately, having some problems with my hands not working properly but getting through it. I have both an Equilizer and a Reese. I've tended towards the Reese but not the dual cam model. My buddy who tows with a '54 Ford Wagon also uses a WD hitch, I believe also a non dual cam Reese. He actually has a dual cam version but hasn't needed it. We both have airshocks in back and run with 40lbs in them when towing. We also have Reese anti-sway bar and wouldn't tow without it. Never a problem with our set ups nor have I had with the equilizer which I used for years. 1,000lb bars on both I believe which is more than I actually need but they were with the hitch. I could easily get by with 750lb bars. Hope that helps. Best way to get me is direct at safari57@telus.net. Barry

Oh, I brought her home the end of October this past year. Love her. We named her Kalea...lol. Hawaiian for "shiny", which she will be. Marc (3ms75Argosy) towed her home for me and said she towed like a dream (she had been sitting for 12 years on the same site), and now that she is parked in my carport I feel the same as you. One of the tires is flat. I got underneath and checked out a few things, and feel lucky having made it home as well. I have gotten most of the interior out so far, with the exception of the bathroom and the fridge, which will be a bitch-it's original to the trailer. No saving that fridge. I have ideas on what I want to do with that space, besides Fridge yes, shorter one though-and build a counter with storage above, instead of wasting space on a wardrobe I will never use. I would love to make it to the rally in Vancouver in August, I hope she will be roadworthy (if not finished) by then, just to show her off.

Keep in touch as well! Sue

Nice nice nice unit. Funny how my buddy goes to Boise last March to pick up his '53 Flying Cloud to tow with his '57 Pontiac and you live there and have a '58 pulled with your Caddy. He'll get a kick out of that. He was hoping for a 55/56/57/58 one but none were available at the time. Did you install black and gray tanks?

As for vintage, 1947 was a very good year. We are 1950 and have been into the 50's cars since 1969. The Flying Cloud just completed the whole picture and we have a lot of fun. I forward the photos of your setup to my buddies with their Flying Clouds to hopefully get them motivated on finishing theirs. The other one is a '51 like mine towed by a '54 Ford 8 passenger wagon. That's a beautiful rig! Didn't they used to call the Airstream the "Cadillac" of travel trailers? Looks like you figured out the photo posting thing also.
