    Yes, I still have that old Curtis. Being that it's such a rare model, I'm always looking for any information regarding its history. Hopefully something will surface. Let me know if I can provide pics or measurements.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I believe it is 2024. I wanted to get a few opinions on the forum thinking there is a lot of experience out there. I am now turning to the internet for research. I agree with the alum. primer, most likely an oxide base. My trailer is a 1947 Curtis Wright.

    I would guess that your unit is not made from the usual Alclad material that was used for Airstreams from 1950 to 1985. Your unit is likely made from 2024 like the airplanes. If I were you, I would talk to an aluminum supplier and get the proper formula for cleaning off the corrosion with an acid (vinigar is too weak) and then use an aluminum primer (in areas that do not show) to prevent its reoccurance.
