What a beautiful Airstream; I cannot comprehend that it is a model from the 80's! What do you use to polish it? I sure would like to see interior photos. 1982? It looks like it came off the Airstream assembly line yesterday!

Good morning --we're meeting friends at FD Roosevelt Park --near Callaway Gardens --to see the lights (they have kids) Nov 30-Dec 2. You can join us if you like!

Don't do it!! It took about a week the first time--lot of nasty, arm wrenching work. I used a variable speed polisher from Harbor Frieght ($40) and it is still going. Dewalt was much more $ but built better I guess. I used a product called Gliptone Liquid Metal Polish and it did a good job--about $100 worth did the whole trailer. 3 grades of polish: red =coarse, green =medium, blue =fine. Would like to try the Nuvite products but they are so expensive. If you do it, please send a picture or two. Good luck! Bill

Yes!! What a job!! It needs a touch up run but I am knee deep into the restoration of a 1960 Tradewind so it will just have to wait. Will be polishing that one as well. Surely appreciate the kind comments. Bill

It's Airstream dreaming time to plan out your 2011 camping trips. One to put on your list is the Memorial Day F.D. Roosevelt State Park TAC-GA Rally. All Airstreamers are invited to attend. The only fee is your reservation with State Parks. F.D. Roosevelt is centrally located in the state and close to many attractions. Please see the Forum Rally area under Other Rallies and Events to see more information on this rally. Let's have a strong showing and put some aluminum in the park!
