    Hi Buffaloman,

    I was browsing the forum and noticed you own a 28 ft Argosy (great camper by the way). I have a question about your Argosy and I greatly appreciate your response.

    Do you know the loaded trailer/hitch weight of your trailer with fresh water and LP tanks full? I know the dry hitch/trailer weight for rear bath is 510#/4040# and a center bath is 405#/4375#, but I don not know those weights with fresh water and LP tanks full.

    I am curious to see if a 28 ft Argosy would be within my tow vehicle's specs.

    Thanks for your help!

    Evening; Sorry haven't signed in lately. Purchased $3500.00. First goal is structural integerity. P&S Trailer put in new pink insulation/new belly pan, removed original carpeting, replaced rotted plywood around the floor perimeter, fixed black water tank valve, rebuilt the battery box and 1 wheel well, installed a cable tv port where a PO had punched cable through the rear wall=approx $4500.00. My spouse replaced all the marker lights, replaced inop electric hoist with a manual one, hardware odds & ends & installed new converter=approx $500.00. THen I discovered Airstream made an 25 ft alumn model Late 80's that has the panoramic windows front/back. They are as difficult to find as an Argosy with front/rear panoramic windows. So, do I keep the Argosy or sell at a loss &look for AS model? Too soon old; too late smart. The side marker lights respond to brake & turnsignal input; only one I've seen like that. Mary

    Tom and Karen,

    Sorry to be so long in replying. I am learning "how" to use the forums system. It is great you have the same year! Ours is in the middle of rehabbing. We are working on the floor. My husband has removed the old carpet. We then realized there were some leaks. We have it about 1/2 sealed. We are going to do the rest just for good measure. We have removed the sofas to the dump. I see you two live in Darrington. We attended the Linden Rally in Sept. We plan to attend this year as well. We are hoping to go to the meet with the two Washington Airstream Clubs in April and we are going to the International in Wyoming.

    We discovered our door lock is actually a 77 not a 78. The trailer was made in April 78. They must of grabbed parts from the late 77s to put our together.

    How is the progress of your trailer?

    Judy My husband Jesse is jjustice on the forum. We each have our own? {smile}

    Hi there! No.. I did not repaint the endcaps, as I've taken the whole trailer down to the aluminum / steel. I do hope to paint them silver though to match a bit better.. but each summer I think of it.. we end up just using the trailer! Welcome to the forums! We love our Argosy!

I am just starting to fix up the Argosy I bought in CA. While it was supposed to be functional, I discovered it needed a new toilet, shower faucet and a few other things. I towed her home from the RV storage yard and rewired the GFI outlet to get shore power to her. While it was sunny today, it was pretty cold. This morning it was well below freezing. I think it got to about 34 at the highest .

I am looking forward to cleaning her up , fixing the broken stuff and getting her rolling....
