    Bill,
The decision you make is the one that counts. We just bought our 27ft classic last year, I thought I would be comfortable with the pickup we had at that time but It just didn't work for me ( my wife was okay with it). The 03 Chevy with a 6.0 had plenty of power down in the flat lands of Nebraska but did not like the the climbs we made in Colorado that said I'm sure the newer pickups ( 2011 and up) with more gears in the transmission probably pull much better. So we needed to upgrade to a much newer pickup, so being around diesel thru work I leaned more to the diesel but I wasn't going to go in debt. So thus the search for an older low mileage, well maintained pickup was what we bought hopefully it we do the job. We both love the airstream and are going to take some long trips. Good luck with your tow vehicle search and enjoy the streaming. Ed
