Hi Bart, I also am planning to put new tires on my 2007 19' Bambi and it sounds like the Michelin LTX M/S2 (235-75 R 15) would be a good bet. Would you happen to know if this tire being slightly wider and higher than my old Marathons (225-75 R 15) will fit into the wheel space. The Marathons were a tight squeeze getting on between the trailer side and the wheel drum?

    Hi there,
greetings from a"neighbor" in San Jose and soon-to-be fellow Tradewind owner. Picking up my new toy next week from Sebastopol. It's a 1974 and I can't wait to get her home... Saw your recommendation on the Michelin LTX M/S2 Michelin tires, so I will probably get them as well. I will repack the bearings before towing - do you have a recommendation where to get the proper seals here locally? Best regards, Martina

Well, more work has gotten done. Between the two of us, we've managed to do the following since our last post:

  • Removed the front gaucho to make way for a dinette.
  • Riveted up the battery box to hold the two group 27 batteries. Essentially air tight and has a 11/2" vent fitting for exterior ventilation & Delrin feed-throughs for power. Still needs hold-downs.
  • Removed the broken and dangerous N-22 furnace.
  • Removed the broken original Bowen water heater.

Well, we've been busy working on the Tin Pickle... since we picked it earlier this month up my wife and I managed to do the following:

  • Removed the ghastly bumper mounted taillights the PO had added, along with all the wiring he added along the belly pan. I did some troubleshooting and drilled out the rivets holding the non-working taillight assembly in place. I managed to free the corrosion so that the socket worked properly again; the principle problem was that it had been

My wife and I picked up a 1971 Tradewind in Delhi, California this week, and she posted in the forums about it here.

I'll do some write-ups on our efforts to get our Tin Pickle into shape; this should be a fun project for the two of us.
