    Hello Jackchoi

I think you should be fine with the Curt hitch with the scooters. If you are going to travel a lot electric brakes on the trailer would be a good idea.

Hi. I read that you have a mini towing an airstream, but you had to custom make hte hitch, and I do not have that capability. I have a combined weight of about 2000 lb with a trailer and two scooters. You think it's OK to use the Curt hitch with no equalization on my 2011 Clubman S? Thanks

    Andy,

I've been reading all over the internet world of your prowess with equipping TVs, and have been reading a backlog of "Hitch Hints". It has all been very interesting and very well founded. My wife and I are slowly easing ourselves into the RV-ing life, and love our 2005 Dodge Magnum. To see/read of your experience towing with the Chrysler 300 (the same LX platform) has excited us both about the potential TTs we can consider. An Airstream will be out of our budget for some time, so we are currently looking at smaller ultra-lights with rounded nose-caps. To the point: our Magnum currently has a Curt Mfg class III hitch. We aren't able to come to Ontario from Texas to have you set up the hitch, but any insights you can offer about this hitch, and any recommendations you could offer toward preparing this setup for a WD hitch would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Andrew - I noticed you commented on Rbphoto's page (he uses the 2010 Tundra pulling a 2011 27' FB). Anyway I noticed his hookup was pulling down the bed of the truck a bit and that didn't look quite right. You offered him advice and I wondered what that was?? Anyway... you seem fairly knowledgable here and I'm a newbie considering a 27' AS myself also using a 2010 Tundra Limited Crew Max with tow package. Anything special I need to consider with this... and is this enough truck to do the job? Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it.

Hi Andy- I'm the guy who called you yesterday regarding my 2005 ML500 hitch. Today I pulled off the bumper cover to get a better look. The flex I thought I was feeling was merely the back end of the stinger moving in the receiver. Everything seems true under there, with the exception of a slight bend in the receiver which doesn't bother me. I re-torqued everything, just to make myself feel better.

    Again, thanks for your help.

The new BMW 3 series diesel will likely pull two or 3 19's. It also handles extreamly well however it is likely a bit of overkill for a 19'. If you want a very fuel effiecent vehicle that is not so expensive going in you could go with a Jetta Deisel. I am very pleased with ours which has 18,000 miles mostly towing on it since March. The 19' it will tow at at 22-27 MPG U.S. Gallon & 45 plus solo. Both of these vehicles need a custom hitch, are you within driving distance of us?

Hi Andy- I bought a 19ft Bambi- love it! I tow it with a Dodge Ram 2500 diesel very easily. I was thinking of getting a a second vehicle to tow because I need the Truck to pull a horse trailer. What would you recommend that is strong enough to pull it but also fuel efficient when I am not? I am open to a diesel. but would like to go smaller rather than big and if the Hensley hitch helps that is ok too. I am not a huge SUV fan but if I must, I must.... Would the BMW 325 diesel pull it well? I would appreciate your opinion- thanks!

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner but I haven't been the best about checking the site. We installed the factory receiver with the elbow. This car does not have the tow package. It tows great with the weight distributing hitch. Any tips or warnings? Thanks for the nice comments - we like the way Betty looks being towed by a car! Holly

    Andy,

I see that you use a 300 to pull your trailer. I'm thinking about buying a Magnum to pull a 3,000 lb utility trailer. I've heard the Chrysler products have trans issues. Do you know of any persistent problems with the transmissions used behind the R/T's and the SVTs?

    Thanks
    Joe
