Been Pretty busy over the past few weeks. My bride has primed and painted the hitch and exposed frame on the interior. I have removed the sub-floor, and replaced the front piece (harder than it sounds with the shell on). Together we have buck riveted and TemPro'ed the sheet metal patches across the top solving the mystery of what lay under the patches.

We were relieved to find that the damage to the bows was really cosmetic, but we will be adding metal anyway to shore up the roof...

All of the inside skins are off! However, what was uncovered added yet another layer of fun. When the previous owner (moondoggie) "replaced" the floors with mismatched plywood, he chose to saw around the inner shell leaving the rotted original around the perimeter. The C channel is largely deteriorated, the majority of carriage bolts are rusted through, the wood screws are corroded through. The shell isn't being held to the frame by much and it has been really lucky to have made its trip...

Gutting and polishing!

Our family recently picked up a gutted 1955 Airstream Safari in Panama City Beach. All of the original furniture was still inside, but not bolted down and no appliances.
The palate was clear and the ideas of how to proceed were wide open. Should we restore with all vintage, or a modern "Ikea" motif? The decision was clear. We'd stick to the vintage layout, remake the furniture "identical" to the original, but have updated appliances for the sake of worry free glamping....
