Hi Barry, I didn't' realize I had to log on to check messages, not receiving them in my email! Was great to meet you guys in June. We had a fabulous road trip with the Flying Cloud (who's now nick-named Wall-E thanks to our son's suggestion). Duncan managed to get a toilet roughly installed. We hope he can get to stripping down in the fall to re-insulate and redo the wiring. When we put it back together we're going to save as much of the cabinetry as possible and of course put in a new floor. Just worried once it's apart, won't be back together for years. And we don't have a shed to store what comes out - so that has to be found first (cheaply!). Hope you guys are well and have had a great summer. Hopefully see you guys and Lee and Judy at Lynden later on. Take care and if I hear of anyone shopping for an Airstream, I'll be sure to let them know about yours if it's still available... do you have photos you could send - I could possibly GET some folks interesed.

Shirlee - how are you coming along with your Airstream? Hopefully you can attend some of the vintage events happening this year in the lower mainland. You will find tons of kindred spirits. If you happen to run across anyone interested we are likely going to sell our 1951 Flying Cloud and stick with just our 1960. Ours is not original like yours, but has 12V, water and waste tanks, a toilet, and is pretty much ready to go camping as we have been for the past 7 years with it. The body on ours is not nearly as perfect as yours as ours has been well used over the years. If anyone wants pictures I can steer them to them on the 'net. We are not positive yet we will sell it, but likely come mid April we will decide and then if someone has shown an interest we will let them know to come take a look. Barry

Shirlee - congrats on a great trailer. We also have a '51 Flying Cloud we bought in '04 , redid the interior to suit our needs, and used for six years. They are great trailers. These trailers sure do get a lot of attention. There are two of us traveling together again this year (our friends have a '65 Caravel, we are towing our '60 Tradewind) and we spend a lot of time talking to fellow campers and folks at gas stations about the Airstreams. The one you got is a real beauty - mine has a fair number of what we like to call beauty marks. As for the picture you mention, I'm not sure which one you mean. Do you mean my avatar? Look forward to meeting you folks. Lee was really pleased that someone who is going to do it properly bought it. He certainly has regrets as it is about the best body and original interior early 50's Flying Cloud any of us has ever seen. I know many of the Airstreamers in the PNW have lusted after it.

    Hi Barry,
We've heard good things about you from Lee & Judy! We're the ones just buying their '51 Flying Cloud. Weather isn't cooperating though - hope it's better for you. Saw your BC licence plate photo - where did you find that? Take care, Shirlee & Duncan
