    good morning,
I am new to the forum, looking to buy my 1st AS an 1998 Excel 1000 31 http://www.airstreamclassifieds.com/ads/1998-airstream-excella-1000-31-maine/[/url] Looked at it yesterday: very clean & well maintained. "Significant" blemishes were three corner roof dents: one over a rivet line, but none seem to be a problem. No apparent water damage, no significant rust on visible steel/frame components. No outer skin/corrosion issues. Ceiling is up & intact. Inside is very clean with carpet removed in all but the bedroom. New AC, New tires, New Black Tank. My Question: 1. are there any typical problem areas for this age/type to look for?

US: first time Rv'ers, planning to travel 6+ months/year. Our ideal trailer=28', this one is 31 - too big for a first unit? Can we get into BLM & State Parks? So many questions... THANKS so much for your time!

PS: it's offered at 26K, I see an other identical one in Texas for 27.5. do you know the "typical" fair value?

Thanks so much for the info. Airstream seems to make changes difficult. We also preferred to have the real recliners rather then the sofa but Airstream said no. Thanks again.

    Dear Joe,
We recently purchased a 1971 tradewinds 24'. I'm curious about the history of our trailer.
    serial number: L25 T1J 3863
it was registered to: Edward E. Edwards of Nashville, IN on May 13, 1971.
The "ghost" numbers on the back are: 24874
it was purchased from Brown County Travel Trailers #111 in Nashville, IN

We bought it on consignment thru an RV place in Nashville Tennessee in July of this year. We can't believe how in good shape it is! It has a goucho in the front and two twins in the middle with a rear shower/bath. any info you could provide would be awesome!

    Thanks!

Hi if you'd like pictures of my 94 30 excella inside floor email me. I used allure from HD. The flooring does not like the cold so it will have gaps in seams but over all its a great product. sfcg2003@aol.com Brian

Hi, my name is Mary and I am looking at buying my first Airstream. I read a comment you wrote about new vs old saying that the Airstream one considers has to speak to you. Well, I saw one on ebay in Michigan that speaks to me. Then I looked for an inspector and found your profile. I know Michigan is a big state, and I don't know where these things are, but...the unit is a 23' 1967 Overlander, and its located in Flushing Michigan. It has three days to go on the auction and the minimum bid is $6,100. Would you have any inclination to look at this unit for me and see if it is in decent working order? I want a unit that I can use now as is. I don't mind doing maintenance and changing things later, but I want it to be in useful condition as is now. The phone number of the seller is 810-919-2233. My number is 631 384-6486. and my email address is maryquinn2@mac.com. Thanks for your consideration. Mary

Hi Joe, sorry I just noticed your message. We had a great time on the Caravan and hope to see you and Lorrie again in the future, we have not made up our mind on Intl yet, but with it being so close to home we hope to attend.

What a coincidence! When I met Rollerboy at Mackinaw City Rally I asked if he didn't remind everyone of you Joe, and you have the same model Airstreams?!
