We camped along Lost Creek a couple of miles before Old Station. There's a dirt road leading off the hwy for a mile then start looking for spots other people have camped before. We also found lots of camp sites for trailers off the same road on Hat Creek. Most everyone we saw (maybe 4) were fishermen. Can't remember the trail no. but I can look it up on google earth. Love the DO cook book for dummies, it's my main book now. Got to feed Gabby, he's back in camp, he such a great white hunter. LOL

Hey Margo....I prefer boondocking! However, we have solar panels.... I DID get the sandwich book, and I have spent some time reading the Cast iron Cooking for Dummies book. We have been busy since Casini....flew to Seattle to visit our son, Kevin, and his gf, then returned to prepare for our 5-day camping trip (w/o the Airstream) to Yosemite....got back on Friday afternoon. I am still getting stuff cleaned up and put away! I SWEAR, it was 10x more work getting ready for that trip than it is for a 3-week trip in the Airstream...and, I still forgot stuff!!!! We stayed in the Housekeeping Camp, with tent cabins and electricity....we had a good time. It was good seeing my cousin and seeing her daughter, who is now 9 years old....I got to teach her how to prepare for and light a campfire, using just one match!
Soooooooo, where did you go to camp in the woods? Did the parrots stay at home? ;-) I cannot imagine it being quiet if they were along...LOL! Just teasing, I hope you know.

Just got back from boondocking in the woods. Incredable how quiet and peaceful it can be. It was like a little piece of heaven. Ramping up to trip off up north. Did you get that sandwich book yet? Have you read D O cooking for dummies? It's my D O cooking bible now.

I like your Flaminco picture. Still trying to figure out how to view the Cassini camp sites. Going to "ATouch of Classical Piano" at our refurbished Cascade theatre tonight. Going to the champagne reception after the performance. Duane Hampton and the performers do this for free and all the proceeds go to the theatre. Such a good thing.

There are TONS of photos on the 2011 Jackson Rally thread! I don't even bother posting my photos on the AirForums....I rarely take people pics, and that is what most folks want to see, methinks

It was good to see you and Jane and the menagerie! I was thinking yesterday...we never even talked cast iron ONCE....but, I am definitely going to order that sandwich book.

    Cheers, Dee

Have you seen any pictures from the Jackson weekend? It was great seeing you and Paul there. We had a grand time, even if Jane did drop the ball. LOL

Hi Dee, Not quite back yet from our travels. Went to the rally forum site to look for the schedule and the forum has a new format, looks great, not so crouded with advertisemnets and stuff. Can you tell me where to find the schedule dates? Please??

Nope....you want to go into Death Valley from the south end when towing the 'stream, for sure! I am sick of the rain, too....not sure I am ready for 90-degree heat yet, though.

We took a week on the lake. Now we need a vacation from the rain. The desert is looking better and better, just don't know a short cut into Death Valley anymore with the stream.

Once this move is over, you two need to go on vacation!!! Another one of the recipes from "the book" that we liked was Skillet Scallion Biscuits....designed for the Lodge cast iron 10-1/4" frying pan. We have had the biscuits with most of the main dishes we have tried.

Glad to hear the piano survived the move!
