It won’t let me finish my comment as it’s too long, but here’s the rest of it:

We found or saw that our old air conditioner wasn’t painted on the bottom, just the cover was painted on it. We wanted ours to look nice, and before seeing the old one was not painted on the bottom, so we took our entire unit in and they sprayed the bottom part too, below where the cover mates to the actual AC unit. I think if I didn’t know the shop people and/or to make it easier, I’d probably just remove the six or so screws that hold on the cover and take it in for them to spray. It barely weights a thing, too, so it is an easy thing for them to spray and/or handle.

No sweat on that project, I’d recommend having it done and like I said, I think any shop can handle that one for you.

So sorry it took me so long to see your message and/or reply if I didn’t before!!!

Jake, I’m sorry if I missed your post and/or anything else with it. My mom passed away around this time and between the lack of sleep from stress and such, I may have missed replying and/or did and don’t remember!

Ok…so your question was if the paint adhered on our air conditioner. Yes, and we had no problems with it at all. I have been in the body shop business for a while now, so I can tell you that any body shop should be able to paint the cover fairly easily. It just takes a plastic promoter they spray down first, and then they can spray it with automotive paint.

Did my response post? If not can you post your email and I’ll get you more AC info. It logs me off sometimes and my messages don’t post. Thanks.

Been looking for an older Flying Cloud and following your rebuild. I have a 1980 Caravelle but Love those 13 panels. Do you see any other trailers for sale in your area? I live in Montana but know I will have to travel for the right rig. How is the rebuild going? Thanks for your time--Don Witulski in Montana
