I'm actually not a big sports fan, but I understand the draw.
I have traced my ancestory to the 600's a.d. and my ancestors were the original Vikings, from Norway and then later, from Iceland. The Icelandic Sagas contain stories about my family that were written 800 years ago, and document some of the escapades of the "real" Vikings in my family.

Hence, the moniker, Viking.
