Mary,

I made the diamondplate cover. The bumper storage was actually extended about 9 inches to allow for more storage. I then simply "skinned" the lid with 1/8" aluminum diamondplate. Hope this helps.

The diamond plate looks great! Would love to have one like it. Did you make it yourself, or have it custom made? Also the depth of that area, is that original or has it been extended? It looks larger than our '72 Sovereign.
