    Larry & Lou,
My apologies for never responding back to you last March. I just lost track of things and it fell off my plate - I'll blame advancing maturity. Anyway, we did head out west and had a marvelous time in South Dakota/Wyoming/Nebraska and points along the way. We did overnight at Portage and, as you guessed, it was empty. $20 (payment kiosk right at the site) that included 30a electric and a dump station right there. Worked out great - easy on/easy off the turnpike (got some good sleep to ease my nerves for the long drive through Chicago the next day).
We do appreciate your offer though and if we ever get your way again, we'll keep you in mind.
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
We have no experience with that Portage Service Plaza. Larry owned his own trucking co. and drove past it lots and lots. He says there was hardly anyone ever in those spots.
We welcome you to stop and overnight with us. We offer full hook up courtesy parking. We are in LaGrange. The Turnpike is just a few miles away to the north of us. Lorain County. We are 20 min. from Medina. 15 miles due west of Brunswick...straight out OH 303. LaGrange is at the intersection of Rt. 303 and 301.
Our email address, so you can contact us directly is Lwood@windstream.net

    Hello Larry & Lou,
I happened to see a post by you and noted you live near Cleveland. We are new AS owners from central Pennsylvania (23FB Intern picked up last November) and planning our first major excursion to western parks in August. I've been planning the itinerary and had planned on over-nighting our first night out (and possibly on the way back) at the Portage Service Plaza off Rt 80. This type of traveling is pretty new to me - never pulled a trailer on a long trip before. I know we could just boondock at a truck stop if no actual RV sites are available, but I like to plan ahead. Do you have experience with the Portage Plaza as far as how heavily the RV sites are used? are we likely to find a spot arriving 6-7pm? any other suggests for an easy-off-on overnight spot in the general area? I actually lived in Strongsville and near Medina years ago, but it's been a long time.
    Thanks
    Frank Bastian
