If you are in Loganville which is 45 minutes away from Athens stop in and check out our trailers. We have two airstreams. We are restoring a 1960 Overlander. My 1973 will be heading to its permanent home in about a week. Dan at Bulldog Carwash knows me my wife and son. He has 11 airstreams at his carwash on Hwy 29 in Athens.

Feel free to call 770-883-3917 cell or 770-466-8739

I have been on the fourms for over 4 years and I am still researching and learning. There is much to absorb when you get into bringing these things back to working condition. I have learned from other RV folks (not all airstreamers) you will always have something to do with these rigs. It comes with the territory. Make sure you number and take pictures of your parts and where they go. It makes life much easier. I learned that lesson the hard way. Don't be afraid to drill new holes and add new rivets. When I took my ABS parts out I cut them in huge sections and glued them back together. I worked around swimming pools for many years. You can glue PVC to ABS. The insert on the trim is marine vinyl that my wife bought at Joann's. It is easy to work with and it looks great.

Thanks for the info! My bath is basically just positioned in there with few rivets, no trim. I easily pulled out the tub surround today and will look at the sink and other ABS parts. Toilet is already out. Your Krylon aluminum looks amazing. I am just starting on my renovations and spending a lot of time researching and reading, and thinking. Tomorrow I will take photos and post on the forums for some direction/help. meanwhile, what is the "insert"? Thanks! Sara

The bathroom trim was with the airstream. The trim was bronze in color and had a brown insert. We painted the trim with Krylon aluminum and used marine vinyl for the insert. I can't picture yours without trim. My trim covers all my rivets into the fiberglass bathroom set up.

I saw some old photos and posts of your bathroom redo (1998). Where did you get the aluminum trim you used in the bath. all of mine (69 safari) is missing and need to replace after painting tub and sink. Thanks, Sara
