Mr. Emerick - Would you be interested in contacting a Mr. Mark Kuzmic there in Appleton on my behalf - for an appointment to inspect his '54 Flying Cloud for me? Its currently been in the Forums Classifieds for quite a while - at $4,500 and as far as I can tell, no interest. It was on Craigslist for a good long time too, same price & no takers. Some PO glued tacky carpet to the walls, Mark said to add insulation when the PO took the trailer to Montanna hunting. The exterior skins look to bein great shape (probably it's best feature?), but the interior looks to me to be "disposable" to say the least. I'd like some idea if the floor is soft in the usual places - any sign of floor rot, maybe tap even the walls a few times all around that interior carpet to see if that's hiding any interior skin "problems". I can't remember what he said about the title, that could be a real problem, for me here in Texas. Do you get the impression the trailer would survive a tow all the way down to Texas? The owner seems to be a nice, no nonsense fellow, but he's definately of the opinion that his price is fair & doesn't want to budge much, whereas I see his trailer as needing most all of the normal run of expensive parts & tons (more like YEARS) of my labor plus outside labor for those things I'm not good at doing. I'm hoping that after advertising it for so long w/ no takers, AND if it passes your acid test - that he might "see the light" and sell it to me for someting in the very low to no more than the mid $2,000 range. That price allows for my cost to come all the way up get it, repair any frame damage, replace the axel, install the usual run of tanks, install the required new subflooring & top flooring, install a tiny bathtoom plumbed into the new tanks, re-wire and then polish - all the usual "must do's" that you've already "been there/done that" on. I've followed your posts for a while - you obviously know your vintage stuff and I'd be forever in your debt if you could check this one out for me and, maybe? / just maybe?, be willing to share your thoughts & inpressions once you've gone thru this trailer? From the photos I've seen, I see this trailer as a total "clear palate", to put it nicely - a more or less total re-do on the interior and I'm not sure I have all those skill sets. I have offers of a good bit of the up front labor & teaching input on the "how to" aspect on the rest, but I do have concerns.
