So sorry Tucumcari, to have gone M.I.A.!! Shortly after my original posts re. the acquisition of our 'new' '68 Ambassador in Nova Scotia, we bought an '89 Excella which we have permanently onsite in Florida as our 'winter home'. It has been a lot of restoration, renovation and cleaning and I had no time to get on the Forums here!! Am hoping to get some photos of the older model on here to show our progress. How are things going with you? A whole TWO years later. Wow!

Dale and Roberta...I noticed your post to my AS blog and thought I would drop you a line. We live in Indiana, PA...birthplace and home of Jimmy Stewart. Wonder if he ever spent a night in an Airstream. Picked ours up last September and planned and planned over the winter and am just now getting to start the restoration. No doubt you have been through this as well. The materials have been purchased and the "tear out" begun. I will post more pictures as time permits. Have a great day!

Congrats! Isn't it exciting??? Our complete cushions, etc. have been removed and I found some great retro fabric on eBay for them at $9.95 a yard. We have a good friend who owns an upholstery business so I'm hoping that he will give us a bit of a bargain. Can't wait to receive the fabric as I can then take a swatch to find something matching for the draperies.

October is a nice time to be in Canada. Where will you be, Nova Scotia?

I am hoping that by weeks end I will have all of the mold addressed!!! We have made several calls to find someone who can check the status of the gas lines but no luck. The dealers have not been very helpful and there is no Airstream dealer near here. Will keep looking. It would be great if the lines are still useable because the appliances are almost mint.

Good luck with your project!! and keep in touch.

    Marcia

Made the move from Iowa to Tucumcari, NM. It has been a many-year project to redo a 1920's adobe house and in addition, have a 1968 Trade Wind to complete now. Pulled the 24 foot down by myself (I am a woman) with a Four Runner Toyota (and I had too much stuff in both) but did just fine EXCEPT the front window blew out and I have GLASS everywhere. But I am home in our newly remodeled adobe (also built a 3 car garage just off I40) so now we'll get the "old girl ready for enjoyment."...
