Don, I'm a new member and was glad to see someone close to my area (Canon City). I am starting to restore our 68 17' caravelle and was quite interested in your polishing article. we have camped on our property in Silver Cliff Ranch and hope to be back up there this year. Keep up the articles. Boundaries

    Hi Don,
We're recovering fine...just dealing with insurance now. Sounds like your neice's cabin was in Gilchrist. The news has flashed that picture of only one cabin left in the area numerous times. I had a friend that lived in Bolivar. They lost everything, but plan on rebuilding. Ike really did a number on all the beach communities. I feel for everyone there.

We're still looking for trailers...thinking about finding a used one now, instead of paying the price for a new one...want to buy a house next year...something more sturdy, if we're going to stay in this area. So we're just taking our time and not making any quick purchases. Was hoping the economy would bring the trailer and truck prices down quite a bit...so that there might be a thought of actually getting a good deal. lol If there's such a thing anymore!
I guess we can look forward to crazy weather everywhere now that we have this Global warming issue going on. We talk about moving away from here...like to Oregon, but then they have their weather problems there too.
    Nice chatting with you.
Hope you guys had a nice weekend.

We stayed and survived Ike....Loss lots of shingles on house and garage, got some rain in kitchen...blew under shingles, loss vinyl siding and trim, and lots of tree debris...no flooding/storm surge in our town...but devastated small town by way a crow flies 4 miles away. We were really lucky...just got electricity on this morning...luckily we got a cool front right after the hurricane hit. We're still under a mandatory evacuation but people are starting to come back into town.

Don: I don't know why I visited your site. Maybe I was just crusing, seeing if you had a photo of your Airstream. Nothing more. OB Bambi

He does sound like a catch...I'll keep an eye out...Don't know any single women right off the bat...most have some sort of issues. Where is your article posted? I haven't been on here much lately...between school and watching Hurricane Gustav...hoping he doesn't come this way....The TX Gulfcoast seems to be turning into the new FL.

    Hi Don,

We live in the small town of Nederland, outside of Bmt.
I have a nursing school buddy who just moved to Arcada, CO. We've been up to Silverthorne, CO for a motorcycle rally a few years ago...We love your area. No humidity, if I could just get use to the altitude.
We've been looking at some 08 models...We liked the 27FB Safari SE, but I really want the International "Ocean Breeze" Just don't know if they'll be any 08 models left by the time we decide to buy...and of cost how much the dealerships will be willing to deal.
Looking forward to reading your article about polishing the AS.

    Hi there,
Hubby and I are new to this site... We're still looking for an AS trailer...we want a 27'FB...the problem we're having is don't know what tow vehicle we want...want to get something strong enough to pull it, but not too big that I won't be able to drive it. We have 2 Toyota FJ Cruisers...but they are too small to tow a 27' trailer...so have to buy a new TV. Love the Toyota tundra...Stats wise it would pull the 27'...the problem is it would be close on the payload, if we brought bicycles, kayaks, generators, etc. So once we decide on the TV, then we can move forward on the AS.
We live in SE Texas by LA border on the gulf coast. We'll probably travel within TX the most and attend an occasional rally when we can. We've been studying everything we can get our hands on, as well as reading the post on here.

Hi D Bishop, I just read your message about the restored MG Midget. I should have known that's what it is, because the rear lights are identical to the MGB, which I've got sitting in my garage. One of these days I hope to restore the MGB, but the lightin' hasn't struck yet. Thanks for the message. Mike

It looks like an MG or Triumph to me.
