Thanks, thumbs! Just switched my forum pic to it this morning.
Check out Dan's blog post Meetup at the Dry Lake for a cool video with a little of Island Girl in it.

Hi Steve,
Hope all is well with you out there in that flat desert. I can see how the desert works for you, it's somewhat like being on the ocean. Bet you feel right at home there.

Hey Spike!
Yeah, flat desert is so much like the sea--silence, stars at night. Just don't often get hit by those 2 AM squalls.

Just had to share with you my Christmas wind-chimes which will go everywhere we travel with the Airstream from now on.

Steve, I have decided to follow your method of treatment of the floor with the epoxy and the materials for sealing the joints. I had already bought MDO board in 3/4. Any additional thoughts on your approach? Many thanks!

Hi Dena,
Still happy with it four years after. Using the cloth with the epoxy is maybe overkill, particularly where I wrapped it around the edges. But, I know I don't think much about the subfloor and don't worry about a leak like I would if I hadn't done it that way. If you do wrap the edges with cloth, I'd recommend Bi directional coth to make that very tight curve around the edge.
You're doing great work and will have a fine trailer pretty soon.
Sunset outside Ajo last night.
Cheers,
Steve

So pretty. How are you doing out on the road? What's your daily exercise ? Thank you for the links. I'm wrapping the edges for sure. Dena

1957 Ride on a boat Steve
Hello Steve,
Thought I would bring this thread back to the top. Haven't seen you for a while Leslie and I stopped by there at Hadlock summer before last to check out your trailer and just visit. We had read your story and were moved by it. Hope you are doing well. We ran into a relative on Saturday Cindy and were telling your story and I though bringing this up to the top might make it easier for her to find it on the Airstream site...anyway hope you are well and perhaps we can run into you again in the future.

Steve is still on here as I saw his name pop up recently when he answered a thread.
I will always remember his great love story.

Hi Russ and Leslie,
Yep, still around. This summer hosting at Marble Creek, a Forest Service campground just outside North Cascades National Park off Highway 20. This will be the third year there and really like it. Met Julia there too and we are currently traveling in the Airstream near Ajo, AZ. Things are good.
I'll try to get a longer post together about the trailer as it continues to be home most of the year. She usually gets 7000 miles or so a year and still seems like nothing ever breaks. Can't believe it's been nearly seven years since moving into her.
cheers,
steve

Hello
Hey Steve!
Another "shout out" here from Dave and Carol - met you at Capitol Reef about three years ago. Our travels have resulted in our now living in the Tucson area, and getting to know an updated 25' Flying Cloud.
We hope to meet up with you again!

Wow! I can't believe how good that looks for 50's unit.
It's got a lot of potential.
OMG! 42 pages, I'm going to have to read all of them now.
It's beautiful.
