Hang in there. I
Lifted the body off my trailer about 18 months ago. The middle of August I started tinkering on it again. Blink of the eye and that much time passed. I'm back at it now and I'm enjoying it. Sometimes deadlines need to

Deadlines, schmeadlines. These months are nothing compared to the years you'll have to enjoy your trailer once it's done!

Axle is on, wheels are on, and the ol' beast hit the road today. Moved her to my house so that work can be done without factoring in a commute. Now here's hoping it doesn't rain for the next two months. Feels good to have the axle install completed.

All windows are out....except the one that we have completed re-installing. All other cross bars are at the powder coaters as I type this.
Hitch was installed on the Jeep as well (it didn't come with a factory hitch, thus the purchase/install requirement). Now I'm searching for a towing set up to accommodate the trailer.
Gray tank has been ordered as well, with custom fittings, from VTS. Waiting on that to arrive so that it can be installed.

Powder coated window pieces now in my possession. Worked for two hours tonight getting them back on the frames and windows. Temps will be in the 40s for the next two weeks (as the high, that is) so I don't relish the idea of installing them....but...it is what it is! Wishing all my faithful readers a happy Thanksgiving if I don't check in before then.

Gray tank has arrived. Two holding pieces welded on today. A little progress to report on this lovely December day!

All windows (except the very back) are now in & gaskets replaced!!! Only have four left to put screens in. Such a great feeling. Worked for 4 hours today thanks to a freak 60 degree day in January.
Leaving the back window out until we get the ceiling skins back in. As most of you know, the way it goes out & comes in is through the back window. Figured there was no need to deal with possibly ruining the gasket until that thing is back in. One closer step to being more water tight!

Got the jeep wired for towing today. One more little item checked off the to-do list! I have plans to buy a sway bar set up in March. Also rented the rivet shaver tool from ODM (again). Got home & took care of two eyebrows before it got dark. While this is my third time renting the shaver bit, it still hasn't cost me as much as buying one of those things, so I'm still ahead of the curve. So far it's been a productive January!

Curious, what sort of jeep did you have wired? What is the manufactures(not what people here or elsewhere have told you it is) tow rating on said jeep?

We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4. The tow rating is for 5000 lbs. I am hoping to keep the trailer at 3800, like the original weight.

Good, the one Jeep that people never come to me hoping to tow an Airstream with.

Brought some pieces back to the trailer (bed rail, kitchen counter, kitchen cabinet, couple of "walls") and got them cleaned off today. Now I can move them from my garage into the trailer for a bit of storage. I figured we'll need these items to figure out plumbing lines here in the near future so I might as well have them here. The kitchen cabinet may be in worse shape than I remember, so it may have to be rebuilt.
On the other hand, put a little elbow grease into cleaning the sink & counter top and I was pretty darn pleased with the result. I may have to replace the counter top because of the stains, but that sink.....it's beautiful.

Spent several hours working yesterday thanks to daylight savings time. Worked on putting two more pieces of floor in (the one by the door, and the one next to the curb side wheel well). Cleaned screens in roof vents and scraped off old gunky gasket on the vents. Addressed rear end separation and made quite a bit of progress there.

I am planning to take the trailer to ODM next week for some work that I haven't been able to accomplish. Got some emergency tow lights to get it there & back.

I love your blog! I'm going to follow your progress for inspiration, as I just bought a 1960 26' Overlander that I'm going to renovate.
