it's a foreign language

All these sewing terms are new to me. The double pleat I was trying to describe is the type used in Airstream of the past...present too. The drapes with pleats at top and bottom. It gives a more formal appearance I think. I agree...keep the billows out. The drapes have to be close to the walls/windows. I am waiting now for the right color to materialize. Going with that teal on the seats.

California transplant

Thanks for the update Carl and Beth. I was beginning to worry about not hearing from you after your "learning curve" first trip. There will always be something to work out with both yourselves and the Bubble. It will all settle in. I am glad you like #309. I got the Texas plate..THANK YOU! Now I may just have to put it to a good use...NO! NO! NO! I will finish up this one here and come visit...a family photo at the Beach.

I know I probably gave you too much info, but it's just normal for me. In my work, I must get to the bottom of what the client is picturing/wanting to make certain I am envisioning the same end result. Most clients don't know the correct terminology, and if I assume they know, I could end up delivering something completely different than what they had wanted. If that happens, I am the one who has to reorder fabric and refabricate the job, all on my dime, so I've learned to provide plenty of pictures as well as explanations.

In seeing what you've selected already, you have good taste and I'm certain whatever you choose will look great. (In my opinion tho (and strictly my opinion), as we've both already said, I'd go with less fullness on the window treats due to the small interior.) Are you going to allow the bottom of the window treats to hang loose, or are you planning to attach them as AS does?
Again, I'd probably do the two-finger pleat.

I was briefly a little caught up on the red in your countertop, but then when I looked back I realized you have that tied in with the upholstery fabric, that's good. That teal is a really relaxing, calming color, and I think that will work well in there.

That is looking great. Like that you used the same material for the bed/mattress. That way it can be used for extra seating if needed and still match the interior.

clean up work

While I wait for the curtains/drapes I changed out the screen door locks. I use Perko stainless where I can. These look good to me and work GREAT!

I am sick and tired of seeing these gate type latches on Airstreams.

Tired of the ugliness...I am trying this...I use Perko marine stainless and stainless hardware.

I almost lost it all due to a stupid mistake. I towed the Bubble without the safety lock pin in the coupler.....I never use one. I WILL FROM NOW ON!. I went over a small bridge near home and the bump caused the coupler to open and the trailer disengaged. All I had to consider safety...was an old rusty chain which I was on the way to replace with something reliable. Luckily it held and the trailer stayed behind the truck. It did do several wifferdills, but stayed upright and on the road. As it dragged the truck to a stop I was able to reconnect and recover ....somewhat. See the drag marks I left on the road...
I know this is off-topic, but what in the heck is a "wifferdill"??? I have to ask since my family nickname is "Wiffer." On second thought, maybe I don't want to know...

Vivian

PS And your work is outstanding and SO FAST--congrats on saving two of these little guys.

Vivian,

W wifferdill is an aerial maneuver similar to a U-turn. In this instance, I do believe Robin-pilot means that the trailer made several unpleasant gyrations after becoming unlatched and before he could stop.

not much happening

Time is being used to republish the entire Airstream. Remember it was done and the sap from a pecan tree ruined it all. I have had to completely compound and polish it. Am now beginning the third polish process of Cyclo with Nuvite C. Then in the coming days Cyclo it all with Nuvite S. The wool pad with Nuvite G was very effective.

Looking awesome! I just ordered G glad to hear you liked it... I have some remaining areas of cloudiness that I hope it will resolve. I like the color of the curtains. Good choice!
