I sold my Limited last month and have been obsessed with finding a Bubble, Caravel or FC since. It's hard to find any of these models in an affordable restorable condition as I am sure you are well aware. A gentleman in Colorado posted a "1957 16' Caravan." I saw the post within the first ten minutes. I seriously broke out in a cold sweat. The rest is history. I am leaving tonight to pick it up. I am stoked to restore a real Bubble. Congrats on your project. It truly is beautiful. We will be on the road with it for the next month. Socal to CO to WI to WA back to CA. Maybe we will see you out there.

Nope. I found a different one in Denver. Got here yesterday to pick it up after the guy accepted the deposit from a friend of mine. The guy let me drive out all the way from Los Angeles and then sold it out from under me hours before I arrived. He said it was my fault because my friend that inspected it took 30 minutes and it concerned him that I wouldn't accept it when I arrived. Funny guy right?

Wisco, sorry to hear about long trip for nothing. Gee, I was feeling bad because I got stood up by a potential buyer for my house after spending all morning (my work on the Hoot time) making sure everything was perfect. Now it's too dang hot to work on it. After reading about what happened to you, I have no right to feel bad except for you. There must be an even better one that has your name on it.

Wisco, What a major bummer, I guess a trip out to see the other bubble is out of the question? Its worth a phone call to see if its still available? Might be pretty far to drive, i recall it was in Indiana?

What is the status of the mega million dollar....(50 or 60 thousand dollars?) Bubble that sold to one of our listers at auction last year. Is Frank working on it? Did it go to Ireland yet? Regardless, we need an update.

Frank is not working on it. It is now overseas with its owner. Not sure of any progress on it, though.

Hardware Installed

I got my hardware in from Restoration Hardware. I used the Gilmore pulls and vintage latches. I think these will work good and will keep with the vintage vibe. cheers.

ID:	108764 it slides in the slot and the latch keeps it tight for travel. I wanted to be sure i could slide the tank out if ever needed and have access to the fittings.

ID:	108777 Thanks for the support above. Thought i'd note that I highly recommend restoration hardware as a supplier to consider. a little expensive--but very high quality. all the knobs, latches, and pulls i picked up are solid bronze under the brushed nickel finish.
