We recently purchased a 1956 Sovereign
. At least I think it's a 1956
. That's what the title says, but according to its serial number and the Airstream Archives, it's a 1955
model. Can anyone tell me how to determine its correct year?
Also, it has its original zolatone (sp) paint, but there are a few places where it's worn off. Can anyone tell me: (1) how to clean the paint that exists, without further damage? (2) what the likelihood is for being able to touch up the paint that's missing, (3) where I can find instructions for doing whatever we have to do to replace some or all of the paint, and (4) where I can find the paint itself.
Does anyone know where I might find an original floor plan or brochure for that model?
We need a replacement door knob for the entrance door, but I don't know how to describe or what to call the original part that is broken. I do know that it's not the kind of door knob replacement that I typically see on ebay.
In the space above where the gaucho goes, there is a hole with some wires sticking out. On the exterior side of the hole, there's a built-in antenna, and I'm wondering if the hole contained some sort of dial or crank or something related to the antenna. Does anyone out there know what might have gone there and where I might find a replacement part?
