Vent Wiring in '56-ish

So, does anybody know if the '56 Safri (or similar models) have wiring in the ceiling for vents or A/C? We want to add two Fantastic Fans - one front & one back and dont know if we will need to pull interior skins to get to wiring.

We have three vents - front, middle & back. It looks like the front one has something as there is a Hehr fan in there now...but the other two vents don't have fans they are just Hehr vents. We want to put in the new "retro" (opaque grey, low profile to look more like original Hehr) Fantastic Fans from Vintage Trailer Supply.

Just finished modifying the new Fantastic fan to look like a Hehr on a 63. I had to go find the 12 V wiring in the ceiling. The Hehr fan in 63 was a 110v fan. But I had a 12 v light nearby and was was able to find the wire feeding the light. You can fish wires thru the ceiling fairly easy with a coat hanger or if need be a fish tape.

The pixs are the new flattop Fantastic with the Hehr aluminum cover on the top and the bottom. I had to discard the Hehr rubber seal. I am going to write a "how to" for Vintage Advantage.

Awesome Herb! I'll be looking for it...and will check yours out in June. We probably woun't be ready for ours before then...maybe, but not likely.

Does anyone have this article from the Vintage Advantage that they can forward to me? I am about to replace my two Hehr vents on my 67 Globetrotter with some of the VTS style vintage Fantastic-Vents and I would love to add this sort of modification. Also, would this work with my slightly more rounded corner Hehr vent lids? Thanks in advance!

I'm also toying with the idea of just painting the lid with a plastic primer followed by metallic silver paint to give an aluminum look. Thoughts????

I saw Herb's Hehr cover on the Fantastic Fan...it looks very nice, but if you don't know it's there, you don't notice it...guess that's a good thing. We just left our grey VTS Fantastic Fan lid grey...it looks fine - you really can't see it from the ground anyways.

I would be afraid the paint wouldn't last with all the baking in the sun it will get ~
