Believe it or not...

We are taking Birdie out to our May Maintenance Rally in two weeks...Fred, I think we'll be hanging out at your trailer for breakfast this time! I'll have two eggs, over easy with bacon & hash browns - thank you very much! Oh, and can I use your bathroom?

Maxwell is going out on Memorial Day weekend...

Maxwell will be ecstatic. Will he bounce up and down joyously on his hind wheels while you are hitching? Kinda like my dogs when I reach to clip the leash to the collar?
"Are we going? Are we really going? YES, you still love me! Oh goody, oh goody! We're - going - on - a - road - trip . . . "

BTW, Birdie is coming along nicely.

I know, I am getting way ahead of myself...but,

I found the cutest pillows last night that are just perfect for Birdy! So, it's time to unveil the finishes even though it will be a long time before they are actually seen inside the trailer!

Clockwise from the top:: Curtain fabric, pillow, Sunbrella awning fabric, "new" brown melamine to go with existing aqua melamine, marmoleum floor, original (stripped) lamp, swirled aluminum laminate countertops, dinnette/bed upholstery...

Shari

P.S. Could I have asked for a better 6,000th post!?

I like the colors - the combination will be subtle and relaxing. Mucho better than the flower queen you got. It will be neat to see the finished trailer.

Hmmm as true to your interior design profession you did this first - me as a bean counter did that last

Hi Shari,

Verrrrry Nice...love that brown and aqua combo (those pillows...what a find). It's going to be fabulous!

Enjoyed reading about your inspiration for following the Birdy theme. My maternal grandmother's name was Burdy, my sister is Robbyn, and my maiden name was Vogel (German for bird)...so I am from a *bird* loving family, as well. Thanks for sharing the picture!

Love your choices in fabrics and finishes. I see you've even coordinated Birdy's website to reflect them. Talk about attention to detail . . . it really is all in the details, isn't it?

Well, we are back from spending our first two nights in Birdy!

All is well...even though we had NO running water, NO plumbing, NO gas, NO built-ins except the overhead cabinets...we basically used her as a hard tent for our Maintenance Rally weekend. We feathered our nest and hit the road...we had lots of rain, pea-sized hail, a tornado watch in the area & only a leak or two around the back window. It finally cleared up this morning to catch a glimpse of our beautiful Colorado sky! We all had "lake front property" this weekend...but a good time regardless.

This week we will begin to track those leaks down and start to repair the couple of bad spots on the floor beneath...no shell off here...although we will be removing some of the interior panels to get to the floor.

In the meantime, we (& Lily) can actually say we have spent two nights in our "new" trailer. We don't plan on taking Birdy out again until the restoration is near complete...now the real "projects" begin!

Good for you guys (and Lily). That blue sky looks pretty good. We have had a "high moisture" here on the coast, as can often be expected. That bed looks very comfortable just the way it is.

Kudos for not letting work in progress stand in the way of a good outing!

I love the fresh flowers on your "dinette". There's nothing like fresh flowers on the table to make any camping trip a special event.
