Thanks guys!

Yeah, the before & after is kinda dramatic if I do say so myself ~

Yes Richard, we plan on bringing her to the Balloon Rally...the interior should be 100% by then...interior-wise, we still have to finish the beds & the closet doors. We may even get a start on the polishing. I don't know, just depends on the pace we keep...it's been a long haul.

Thumbs up Low profile lights

utee94 had asked about the low profile light availability.
I purchased mine from 12 Volt LED Interior Lighting
They are LED but the shape/design is like what VTS had.

You two did yourself proud on that trailer. Very few really know the amount of perseverance and dedication it takes for a long running project like that. You have my admiration!

I suppose if you really miss them, you could line a cabinet shelf or two with them, if you felt you must.

After seeing Shari's I'm about to go out and burn mine. Well, okay not that, but I certainly am rethinking the lay out and will be doing some rework this winter. Thanks for the inspiration - I think. Your trailer is what I aspire to do to mine knowing that I don't have enough life left to build mine to any where near the level you two have accomplished. What is even harder for me to take is that you are doing this on two trailers and I'm still playing around with one.

OH, now I get it. I need to buy another one. Then it will all happen magically. Do you think Donna will fall for that? No, I didn't think so either but it was worth the moment or two of pleasant thought of having a '57 sitting out back in the shop under construction before reality hit.

Great work and a ton of perseverance and commitment to just doing it right the first time. Thanks for sharing the project with us.

Barry

Wow Barry...such undeserved raves! We certainly haven't done anything that hasn't been done before and trust me, having two trailers doesn't make it any easier, that's for sure! We just have guilt as we see Max oxidizing before our very eyes...nothing a little elbow grease won't fix, but not enough time in a day (week, month, year....) to give each full attention. No worries...we have a "Maxwell TO DO List" queued up...

Maxwell is a perfectly fine trailer - I have no idea what we were thinking when we took this project on, but we are determined to finish and not compromise anything in doing so. Way over schedule (we planned to be done 14 months ago, just read some of my early posts) & way over budget (what budget! what's a budget!?! We're doing our best to stimulate the economy single-handed!)...good thing we aren't trying to make a living doing this!

Our non-Airstream friends think we are obsessed...I don't see what's the matter with that, but they know working on Birdy is about all we've done for the last 2-1/2 years - rain or shine. We sound like a broken record around the water cooler..."What did you do last weekend, oh...never mind, I know, work on Birdy, right?" That combined with the constant stream of VTS packages even "brown" knows all about our little project!

However, it is nice hearing the ooohs & aaahs as we are nearing completion though...thanks for yours!

Now, I gotta get out to the garage to put another coat of finish on those closet doors before I head off to work this morning...we have to have finished closet doors before we take Birdy out this weekend dontcha know...aaargh! sometimes it's hard being me ~

Yes, there is a large nail-like stake at the bottom of each of the three poles. It has a rigid frame at the front, both sides and down the middle of the top that hook into the awning rail...it's very stable, however it does rock the trailer in high winds like we had during the Resto Rally.
