Rivet Wally's 1955 Bubble for sale?!

This is not mine, I have not connection to it in any way, I just stumbled across it on the 'net.

The unit is listed as a 1955 Bubble, owned by Wally and Stella Byam, though the trip info on the side starts with 1947 Europe tour.

Here is a link to the sale info (scroll all the way down to the bottom)

Looks like the real deal, to my novice eyes.

I'm not buyin', but thought it might be of interest to someone here if still available

can I just say......WOW

This is a amazing collectable trailer.
Where has this been hiding? Not abused, but not loved either. I would buy it right away except for a minor cash flow problem at the moment. The Airstream company should have this as part of their trailer museum.......but they are too busy spending 300k on moronic harley show bikes.

Yea, thats why its 16 grand! I saw this not to long ago, but all the markings are the same as the real thing, so I guess it could very well be.

I cannot stop thinking about this trailer - it is SO cool!

Don't have the money or the skills to go for it though

I think someone should send that information to Airstream. They should be very very interested I would think? And it might shed some light as to the authenticity of this trailer. Some here must have some insight with the factory to get this noticed???

Good link and great photo, but actually proves it's NOT the same one!
Compare the differences in:
- how the caravans are listed,
- there's a reflector mounting bracket between Stella's name and the front window in the one for sale, but no room for that in the b/w photo

I'm sure they had multiple trailers, including obviously the gold one. But I completely agree that Jackson Center should be purchasing this one - it's easily more important and valuable to the history of the company than a Jesse James bike, and would be perfect if they ever plan to build an indoor museum with "Old Grandad", the gold trailer, and some other important ones from their history.

This is a cool find. Hope someone who appreciates it being Wally's trailer will buy it. Perhaps Peewee can look at the photos and help determine it's authenticity. It looks a little small for the owner of Airstream to be traveling in. I guess Wally had every size at his disposal depending on the length of the caravan and terrain to be traversed. Of course, this could have been his "weekender" for short trips.

The greater "shame" is that, it will end up in Europe, most likely..
