Just Shoot Me, I just bought another Airsteam 54 Flying Cloud

Not home yet, but I just couldn't resist. I will have to have the one panel replaced and of course work on the floor, but the woodwork is in awesome shape.

Wow that's a big rear corner panel! The interior looks remarkably good. Thanks for the photos of the 62 year-old youngster.

There is a place reserved in Paradise for you, my friend! And for all those that find an unloved Airstream and return it to its proper glory!

KrisE, you got to make an appointment with your psychiatrists. There is a lady in Oregon who has the same condition you have. Alummatitus or something like that.

You gotta start reading Melody Ranch's threads on 50s trailers. He has restored several of them to very high standards. Melody Ranch is an Airstreamer who can't seem to get enough of them either.

Not gonna shoot you, that would just create another "gun violence" statistic for the gun-banners.

You might be subject to corporal punishment. . . "Young man, march yourself off to the liquor cabinet and wash your mouth out with bourbon!"

Thanks for saving this oldie, which looks like it's actually in pretty good shape. The bashed-in panel is a developed curve so you can duplicate it in new aluminum.

Congratulations!

Thanks everyone

My Dad found her. He's getting up there in years and wants to help me with this one. We've talked about taking the windows out and having him work on those. I'm thankful someone has already put up video's on Youtube on this subject. I'm still working in my 67 GT so that's my priority.

I can't wait to see the rest of the interior once the owner takes all the junk out. There's a toilet on the street side ahead of the fridge. I'm hoping there's a separate shower/sink somewhere. Too much junk in there to see inside all the doors buy, I can extend the wall forward a bit to make the bathroom bigger, include a wet shower. I've combed though all the pictures i can find on 50's FC's and can't find one that has just a toilet, but I do know they did allot of custom work back then.

I love the back being a sleeping area! I've thought how nice to be looking out into the woods and away from noise in parks when sleeping. And, I can dedicate the front to a more spacious sitting area. Put 2 easy chairs there with a table for sitting rather than eat-in or fold down couch. Seems to be a popular thing here. I already have 2 ekornes chairs just sitting in storage https://www.smartfurniture.com/produ...FYWAaQodGt8CBA

I love these chairs BTW, very light and comfy too. Would be easy to strap onto the floor and take out after travel if I want.

There is a place in Floresville Texas that has a facility for persons with your affliction. Unfortunatly there is NO cure. What a neat find! Carry on.

Oh boy, now you gave aluminatitus to your dear old dad. Not good. He will love to help you.

The current main sitting area in your Flying Cloud is that toilet in the kitchen! I used to have nightmares of sitting on a toilet while in high school study hall.

Here is a link to the Airstream archive documentation for the 54 Flying Cloud. It looks like the trailer had a wet bath from the factory. It might still be there. The "water closet" in your trailer was the wardrobe. You will like it as a wardrobe better.

Gonna work on your Globetrotter this winter? I'm going to work on the son's 69 Globetrotter.
