LeeMo, I took your advice & asked them to run the serial...their reply:
>That number works, your unit is a 1958 cruiser overlander according to
>your serial no. I hope this works for you.
If I wasn't confused enough before..... This is all becoming very strange.
Just received another from them:
>we are still researching we have found out more info that it is a flying
>cloud not sure what year but we know its not a 1958

Hey Flyfshr,
I will get a picture of the sconce & other light posted for you to see soon. We have the split rim wheels too, not on the trailer anymore but we grabbed 'em anyway for historical sake.
Did "just a little cleaning" yesterday - how a garbage can of dirt & spiderwebs for a start? Blech.

Yea, you know what's really funny is the airstream looks so tiny compared to the silver streak & they are only 2 feet difference in length! The width & height, that's another story.

Trunk access update...

Well that was easier than expected... Cleaned out everything yeasterday & here's how the trunk access played out....
1) Remove little "bedside" stand - not actually attatched to anything.
2) Remove mattresses & box springs - heavy!
3) Remove frames beds sit on, again not psysically attatched.
4) Remove 2 sided box that stand was sitting on which turned out to be the - gasp - trunk itself!
Yep, just a top & side of wood & there was the inside of the trunk door. sadly no milion dollars, no gold coins, just a discovery that apparently the trunk door leaks & now some water damage to repair - dang!
We may go ahead now & replace the flooring cover with a Pergo type wood floor after we repair the sub floor- opinions on messing with the "original"?

There are actually several different styles of 'wedding cake' lights. One of them is being reproduced by Airstream Dreams, unfortunately...it's not the one that fits on our '64, which is no longer made or reproduced.

You may want to also try a trucker light store, we have one in town called 'The Lighthouse', I think they are also in CA, they have all the catalogs and may be able to help you out.

Good luck!

Shari

Oh Shari, you may have been a lifesaver with the point in that direction, I nearly hurt myself running out to check the diameter of our lenses & those wedding cake repros. might just do the trick ... with 4 to replace not a budget saver but one can't put a price on history I suppose.

Hope they work out for you...I'd gladly pay that and then some if we could exact replicas of ours.

Shari

You betcha!! I'll let you know how they work out.

Note to self: add getting lenses for the SS to the "to do" list, somewhere between sanding & refinishing the Clouds wood work.
