I'm on Cloud '55

I just purchased my new baby - a 1955 Flying Cloud whale tail. I'm posting some pictures that are of it as found. It had been locked up with no key for over 10 years. You'll notice a box of Alpha Bits cereal on the counter and sheets on the bed. This was an amazing find. There is none of that floor rot, wet smell. All of the vents are intact and not leaking and it is in amazing original condition. Having said that, it will still need a lot of attention. I do not know if any of the systems work. Enjoy this tale as it unfolds

Barry

Thanks Lee. Lightning seldom hits twice! Maybe a trip to the casino is in order.

Looks like a beautiful find. I'll look forward to seeing this trailer brought back to camping life very soon.

Barry, congratulations on the new 55.. she is a beauty. I am sure Brad will be able to give you some good pointers on this one.. I witnessed him getting very intimate with a FC in ABQ

The electrical box. All of the electrical that I have seen from that era, including my 56 was porcelain insluators with the glass screw in fuses.

It's been painted too. Good thing the cabinets were not. Also the front gaucho was removed and a cover made for the stuff up front. Very nice skin from what I see in the photos.

I thought the green Zolatone looked original. I almost hope that it has been painted so I won't feel bad re-painting it. That green isn't my favorite color I know the gaucho was removed but the thing at the front looks original and hides the fresh water tank. I looked at a few other 55's and seems consistent.

Okay, the floors are bad ....but the fridge works, the stove and furnace work, all of the interior lights work.
