That sounds miserable! Do you have room to add a "lean to" just to kill the direct sunlight?

Axles for Vintage Trailers

I thought you all might find this information useful:

Axis Axles just opened a HUGE store in Ankeny, Iowa. I already talked to Jim and he is very Airstream friendly and super knowledgeable. The prices are outstanding. The number is 515-964-6118.

They manufacture the axles right in the local HUGE store and he knows a lot about torsion axles and can build things to suit.

I hope this helps many of you in your quest for good quality axles for your priceless rigs.

My garage lift is complete (see earlier posts) and I'll post pictures soon. The interior drywall is complete and painted, the base is installed and my tool bench moved down. I plan on building a bunch of shelves on the north wall too. It won't be long and the 55 will be at home 40' to the west - INSIDE!!!

Congratulations! Happy happy day. But, shhh! No one should mention this fabulous garage near their ASs. There might be some heavy jealousy, and one might pop a rivet.

Okay, here are a few of the pictures of the garage after lifting it 3 feet and installing a 9' overhead door and countless other projects.

Have you test fit the trailer through that door?

Not yet. I'm planning on doing the test fit this weekend. Believe me, I measured several times before doing the project. I think I'll have just over 6" to spare.

I plan on installing a non-roof type AC unit so that won't come into play. If I change my mind, there is a second header in the overhead door opening and it could be changed to 10'

It's Inside!

Okay, it has been in all winter but I finally got around to posting the "proof" that she is really and truly inside.
