Safsri57, Thanks for the info. I have a thread on the 55. It has some ideas on the layout. I will be adding more now that I'll be getting back to work.
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f36/...wax-25692.html
At this time we are planning on a double bed setup in the back. I'm designing it so it could be used by other members of the family. My son-in-law is 6'3" and he needs mose space than the average airstream size. Any tall people out there have any ideas? Other than electrical and holding tanks we are planning on keeping it close to original. Our trailer was mostly gutted also. So figuring out what was original has been a challenge. Do you have your own thread?

As it stands right now I believe he and our other buddy, Greg, with the '53, are intending to build them out keeping them looking like they do now but put new appliances in place and add a bathroom, waste and fresh water tanks, etc. Lee's in particular is completely unmolested so before he starts altering things it would be good to ask whatever questions you have as to measurements or more detailed pictures, etc. His cupboards are done much nicer than mine and look very nice. I'm envious of that, but also glad I've already got mine updated with bathroom, 12v wiring, new appliances, etc.

New kid on the block
Went and got us a 1958 Flying Cloud last night.
Serial Number is 22-8531
Seems to be a California model, and is in reasonable shape. The exterior is especially workable. The interior seems complete and functional, but someone did the unspeakable turquoise thing to it.... see pictures in the next post.
I went over 400 miles to pick it up, got it to it's new temporary home at my friends property without a glitch. Oncemy current client project is finished, i will start renovating it.
It towed beautifully, weighs about 3100lbs according the previous owner who took it to a scale.
I found it amazing that the perceived mass of this trailer is very similar to my Overlander, which is 2000lbs heavier...
I could tell the weight difference only on steep interstate climbs.

Mine is a bit weird, as it has the newer style front and rear windows, and also the #99 taillights. The front rub rail looks like it's from a 1966-, it has the many small ribs, as opposed to the flat profile like the rear one.
There are 3 missing window actuators, if anyone ahas any, please let meknow. I will be needing them soon. I also lost the rear vent lid on the way home....

Nice lookin' '58 Uwe. Congratulations!!
It is strange that it has what appear to be the Clear View 1009 style windows on the front and rear but the older style on both sides with the center frame. '59 was the first year for the Clear View's so maybe this is a later year production unit. Does the ID tag have a date stamp on it in the lower section? Any interior pictures coming anytime soon?

Yes, it is indeed a little strange, but it appears to be a factory installation. Same with the taillights, there are no large holes underneath that would suggest there being the recessed smaller lights at a former time.
I will post pictures to my photo gallery, since this thread is supposed to be a registry only.

I am in the middle of a project right now, but as soon as that is finished, the Cloud will be pulled in. It is stored safe and sound with my good friend.
I posted all my pictures of it to my photo gallery.

Wow Jim, that's great news. They do tend to attact each other.
Great friend to locate another for you. I'm hoping this one was easier to get than the first one.
Looking forward to seeing pictures.
