1954 Flying Cloud

Hi Bubba, I recently purchased a 22' 1954 and will be sending you the SN soon. I am in Jacksonville FL and the unit is presently in Orlando where I bought it, having some cabinet and floor work done.

Everything that was inside in 1954 is still in there, so I'm going to retain the original layout by copying any cabinet doors etc. that need replacing. Kitchen and shower are in the front.

This will be my first trailer of any kind and I am so excited I am about to pee in my pants! Actually, I just had a couple cups of tea so this is more than a colourful metaphor, but you didn't need to know that, right?

John

We purchased our first AS in 2009. It is a 2000 Safari. We have enjoyed it. Just two days ago we had the opportunity to purchase our first vintage trailer... 52 Flying Cloud. We will spend the winter getting to know her while she sits in our driveway as we research potential restoration and/or remodel options. We look foward to learning more about the vintage side of life.

What a beauty! Welcome to the (trailer)hood. How did you find it?
Another FC not on the list brings us to a count of 172.

Hi again robocopp: I was here so I could refer you to this section of Airstream Forums. It is here where you will find like minded enthusiasts and is a good place to build a project thread describing the trials and tribulations of your renovations. You will likely attract others who have done similar trailers and are willing to answer your questions as you go along.

Steve, looks like a great trailer. Your serial number indicates you have a 1955 according to Airstream Archives serial number spread for that year. Itís not uncommon for an Airstream of that era to be registered in the previous year since AS started making the 55s in late 54. It will be listed as a 55 per the 7773 serial number. Thanks and good luck. Bubba

Welcome 174th Addition!

And we have a new addition to the registry. James and Kelly Fowler rescued a 1953 Flying Cloud #7434! We now have 174 identified between 1950 and 1962.

We have a 1952 Flying Cloud here in New Orleans. I'll have to look at the serial number. Bought it off craigslist from someone up in Michigan about 10 years ago. Interior seems to be mostly original except for the addition of a blackwater tank and toilet in the wet bath. Bynum burner and Marvel fridge, etc. still all there as well as the original pullout couch and table (we think). bought it for about $5k. Would love to know what it's worth now.

Tonynorman50, I would suggest posting your question on a new thread with plenty of pictures. In doing that, you should get plenty of helpful feedback on current condition and value. The older Flying Clouds, of those who sent in their serial numbers, are listed here on a spreadsheet. As mentioned, plenty of pictures so we can see the condition. Thanks, Bubba
