We have Lift off

The frame is outside and the shell in inside. I will start with removing the rust off the frame and replacing the rotted sections.

Frame Repaired

The frame is now repaired and next steps are to find holding tanks that will fit between the rails and a new axle installed.

All,
I am working on the wheel wells which are galvanized. I may want to use fiberglass matting over them on the inside to pretty them up. The question I have is can Fiberglas matting adhere to the galvanized? Can I primer the galvanized and still adhere the matting to it? Will primer/paint/fiberglass work together?
Thanks All

Fiberglass over Galvanized

Has anyone tried to put a coating of fiberglass over a galvanized wheel well? Will it adhere?

Hi Ed, I have no first hand experience. My dad did have a cousin that used to use fiberglass (rather than bondo) to repair rust holes in his cars about 30 or 40 years ago. As far as I remember, it seemed to work for him.

Thanks Joe,
I did the same thing in the 70's... I think it lasted as long as I owned that car... which was about 6 months before my neighbor totaled it!

Frame

Today I completed my work on the frame and coated it with POR 15. Not too bad to work with. Click image for larger version

The deck is down

Over the past two weekend I have worked on getting the decking aligned to the frame... Don't want to have the thing going down the road sideways.

It was not easy but I thinks I have it down. Next step... Let's get that skin on the frame.
