It continues to blow me away how many of these have survived and in such reasonable condition. We see so very few being towed down the highways, maybe one reason they have survived so long is that they got tucked away before they got used up. Thanks for sharing the pics of this one. It's always a treat to see how one of these units looked when it came from the factory.

Smile There's one on Ebay...

There is a 1952 Flying Cloud on Ebay right now. It has a bathroom including a shower and toilet. It is on the curbside at the rear. The sink is at the rear just outside the toilet/shower area. This is the first time I've seen this layout on a '52 FC.

eBay Motors: Vintage Airstream Flying Cloud 22' >> VERY RARE!!! (item 330060896175 end time Dec-16-06 21:23:35 PST)

Thanks, you are correct. I thought I saw this in the "portal" list and therefore recent.

Another 51 Flying Cloud for the registry

This is an old thread, but here's a new addition for the 51Flying Cloud list if anyone is still tracking the early Flying Clouds. We just acquired serial number 7105, a 15 panel version with flat front and back ends. The stove, vents, fridge, sink and closets (one with a water tank mounted vertically on the trailer side wall) are still there, but not much else inside. And it came out on the losing end of an encounter with a tree on the rear endcap, and with a pickup bumper on the front corner, so it's going to need some TLC.

Windows seem to be the biggest challenge facing us-- these are the early Hehr windows with rounded aluminum rims on the tiered windows. Several have broken away at the top screws and 1 tier segment is missing.

I can't seem to figure out how to access the photos on my ipad to make the attachment. (it's a first generation ipad, if anyone has hints for me.). Will have to wait for a real computer to get some pics included.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for ya. Sorry no help here regarding pics and your Ipad. Hope to see them soon.

epperp,

I think this is where you want to "register" your FC:

He's got a pretty extensive list going. Looking forward to seeing photos.
