1955 FC Overhead Cabinet Size?

Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help me with a measurement. My FC, #7900 came to me in an unloved state without anything on the interior, including the overhead cabinets. I am hoping that someone can give me the width of the two streetside overhead cabinets that hang over the sink and stovetop in the galley area.

I recently got the zolatone stripped out, but I am unable to determine the width from the various rivet holes in the skin. My intent was to replace all of the original overhead cabinets. I have two of the four needed, but want to make sure I am buying the right size. Based on the brochure on the Airstream website, they look like two different sizes, 32" and something else?

Based on my earlier examinations and window arrangement of this trailer, I have the configuration with the double bed on the curbside rear running longitudinally. The two that I have will fit over the bed area, I just need those for the galley.

Any info on the size of those cabinets would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

My 56 Flying Cloud has cabinets like described. They are all the same size.

Thanks. I didn't know if they were all the same size or if they were different. Unfortunately the holes in the skins are not very helpful once the paint is gone.

I will measure them for you tomorrow. I have two on my shelf. They are all polished with new doors made for them.

Our 54 FC had two uppers attached together and measure 45" (2x 22-1/2"). These were above the stove. There are also two others that each measure 28", these two were on either side of the twins in the back.

Sorry, looking at the Archive I realized what I have is not what you need. The ones I have are for a Safari/ Caravanner.

My 55 fc has 3 overhead cabinets 2 at 32" long and 1 at 27". Haven't reinstalled them yet so I'm not really sure which goes where.
I suspect that like so much else in these trailers each may be a little different. Plan out your interior and build them the length you want them.
If I can supply any more info/pictures/dimensions etc. let me know.
