Starting a full reno '58 26' Overlander

Hello All,
I'm just starting a full reno/restoration of a 58 Overlander.
I'll be posting progress and asking ???? along the way. I'm going for full custom interior with radius corner cabinets and curved Dinete...Atomic shapes....going for a highend Retro look. These areas I'll have no problem with(they say I know what I'm doing) www.kevinzuchtfinewoodworking.com but my skills in the plumbing and electrical areas well........so I'll be asking questions since I'll be upgrading these to modern standards.

Awesome! I bought a '58 Overlander two weeks ago. The summer heat is just kicking in so I'll have to wait until late September to start my work. I'll be watching this thread closely. I'm sure I'll be able to learn quite a few things.

Post some pics. We'd love to see what yours looks like.

I sent you a PM.

Welcome, Kevin! Can't wait to see your work on this one, your woodworking skills seem more than adequate to the task! If you haven't seen it already, look up the "Adirondack" Airstream..

interior

looking forward and aft....prior to the demo. Mike your in for parts.
Will be reusing hardware where possible. Original fridge works but will see if it can be reworked for 2 way. Plus will reuse drawers as the client loves the dovetails and knows quality and reface them. The rest other than the tub will all be new custom. The interior finish is about a 9 of 10 and she likes it so hopefully a good clean will bring it back to a 10.
So far the floor is solid....no rust has been found!!!! only soft spot is behind tap's in galley but I'll be redoing all the with new cabinets and retro look countertops. I've some cool ideas to use some old hardware to make some hidden storage bins/drawers.
Now first things first.....need to find a shop for a few months.

Congratulations. You're going to enjoy the journey. I'll just bet yours is a '59 and not a '58 model just based on the style of windows alone. Got any pictures of the interior? Once you take the interior apart, please post what you might have available and what you're not going to be using when you put it all back together. I'm looking for a 110 volt bathroom light, in case you might have one.

Welcome aboard and keep this thread updated on your progress. We'll all be following along. If the interior comes out half as good as your examples on your webpage, you're really going to have a show piece. This will be fun to follow along.

On edit: I see you posted as I was typing.

I agree with Brad. Those windows aren't found in a '58.
