28' Ocean Breeze

Here's what we did with our OB that now sleeps two! Replaced the dinette with Ikea children's cabinets and a breakfast bar:

The top flips up for easy access to the drawers:

Replaced the uncomfortable L-couch with a double recliner:

The front of the plastic bins have been covered with grass-cloth wallpaper to match the cool side lights and a narrow bin stack, also covered with grass-cloth has been added to the door side of the recliner. So comfy now!

You can see the remodel in progress here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f345...uts-99279.html

Very Nice

This is a very nice remod. I like the extra storage and counter space with comfy seating. Thanks for the inspirations all.

Regards

In the beginning

This is one of my favorite threads as I get to see all the variations of your beautiful and unique living rooms while we try to figure out what to do with ours. Since it has been a bit quiet lately I will give it a (tongue and cheek) bump of my own vast improvements. I know many Airstreams are tucked away for the winter but I read the forums and I know you are out there having fun. Come on show and tell.

Photo's show:
Original condition
Almost Original condition

Old carpet removed, cleaned, a house throw rug so we don't stick to the sub floor glue residue, two impromptu lawn chairs and outdoor table in case we needed to sit down without going outside to picnic table. It's a work in progress and a labor of love. All the money is under the belly pan so far.

Ha, if she reads your post it may take care of itself lol. Took an awful lot of work to get to this point, but I would not trade the experience for anything. Believe it or not, I did all my remodeling in hotel parking lots. This unit has never even been home. My work dictates that I am on the road 365 days a year. It helped to make friends with the maintenance man at my hotels for past year. Got to get electricity for tools, borrow ladders etc. Still not the best way to do it but it worked for me. Glad you like it. Thanks.
