Replacing interior pocket doors

My 83 Excella rear bath has sliding pocket doors for the bathroom. Although they are a good idea in theory, it’s an idea poorly executed, as they are flimsy and the track mechanism isn’t great. Basically I don’t like them and want to replace them.

So what have you guys done? Bifolds? Separate 12” doors? I’m casting about for ideas before I commit to the work, and I am sure some of you have already solved this.

Thank you.

Mine are great on the 2007 classic. I did have a problem early on where they didn't use enough screws for the track mounting. I fixed that and they have been fine since.

Our ‘85 mid-bath used a barn door that slid in hallway. Was fine.

If rear bath someone made a folding curtain with their fabric and second-hand vertical blinds inserted into sewn channels.

Best of luck!
