peeling paint

help!
Is it possible to remove coat of peeling paint (terrible paint job) without removing original zolatone?

I remember reading that the original zolatone was hard to damage when removing a coat of paint over it, but I don't recall much more about it. Seems to me they said paint would easily come off zolotone, but I don't know with what product.

So, don't worry, someone will know.

Having the same problem on my 61 Sovereign...someone did a terrible job painting it and now it is peeling off. I started scraping and sanding to remove old paint. I tried paint remover but it was getting into the Zolatone paint. Here is what I have done so far.
