I can see all sides to this. As I said, I love contrast, but in all my work on my 86 Sovereign I have not cut and changed it at all - I like it the way it is.

Ps. My apologies! I've just seen that I installed this thread into "Community Polls" by mistake. Maybe a Mod or administrator can put it where it should be.
Sorry folks!
Marc

I fretted about changing my trailer...........

And I probably wouldn't have had it not fallen apart. The counter was crumbling and I didn't care for the avocado theme.

Ours was soo close to original I couldn't bear changing it. The only exterior non-stock items are the wheels, silver metal slots with chrome trim rings. The interior is all original down to the 8-track and the now functional LED clock!

Groovy!

Had it been trashed, it would have gone back custom.

I am going with an entirely new custom design that fits what my family will be most comfortable in.

Maybe we can start another thread about Airstreams that work for a living, and see what our forum members that use their coaches in conjunction with their careers have done with them.

I'm for keeping it 110% original–that's why I only add modifications that I'm sure the factory would have done if they had thought of it before me and had my excella-ent taste and talent! I can safely say that ours is pristine except for the repairs and changes. It has all original modifications. After all, the more things change, the more they rem ain the same. A lesser man would leave well enough alone.

We couldn't keep it original. The materiels used in the original trailer may have been stellar at the time, but in today's standards they are laughable.

All new of the "Good Stuff", and a nice grey tank so we don't need to tote a blasted blue boy around.

Steve
