Mouse Fur

I very much want to remove the mouse fur on my 2001 Safari. Question is, after I remove it what can I replace it with? Will paint adhere? Do I have to remove all the glue? Any other ideas or suggestions?

1. Your trailer, replace with whatever you like.
2. Yes, if properly prepped.
3. Yes.
4. I like wood veneer.
