Mobile office restoration budget
Hello all!
I'm new here after much lurking & am excited to learn more...
I'm at the beginning stages of considering purchasing an older Airstream for a complete remodel for use as a mobile office / client consulting space (I'm definitely not a purist, haha). I was hoping to find one that was pre-gutted and then go from there, with the intent of completely removing the kitchen, bed, cabinets, and any dividing walls for a nice, open space, and possibly removing the shower / bathtub to give the bathroom some more room. It wouldn't need to be liveable and although I imagine it will be moved occasionally, for the most part it would stay parked in one place.
I was imagining floating bamboo flooring, a wall-mounted desk and a nice leather couch at one end in place of the gaucho, as well as some riveted aluminum / sheet metal touches, possibly in the end caps and / or bathroom. Again, no kitchen appliances or custom cabinets, essentially just flooring, walls, and bathroom. I'd love to do as much of the work myself as possible. I realize that pricing for these things varies drastically, but assuming the exterior is in good shape, what ballpark (both in terms of hours and $) am I looking at for a project like this? I'm in the Denver area... any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
